9 Golden Rules to Follow

1. I will remember to be KIND and to SHARE and CARE.

I will NEVER hurt others. I keep my hands and body to myself. I do NOT hit, punch, kick, elbow, poke, scratch, spit, bite, push, trip, tease, or exclude others. This includes NO pretend or play fighting.

2. I will always THINK SAFETY FIRST. I walk in the

classroom. Carry scissors carefully. Knock down block

towers gently. Remember if you did not build it then you do not get to take it apart or knock it down. And never throw any object big or small when at my desk, at the carpet or when playing in the classroom. This also includes throwing anything dangerous outside such as rocks, sticks, pine cones and sand.

3. I will try each day to do one (1) Act of Kindness, such as holding open a door for someone, helping to pick up crayons that a friend dropped, helping to clean up after play, helping someone who gets hurt, or saying something nice to someone, even if it is just, "Hello, how are you?"

4. When playing with Math Bins or Centers toys I will politely share, take turns or trade for another toy so as not to argue or fight over items. If I can not fix a problem I can always try to Walk away, Ignore the person, Talk it out, or Seek help.

5. I will remember to put up my hand and wait my turn patiently without calling out or interrupting others.

6. I will always finish my work first by doing my very BEST effort. I can make free time choices only after my work is done and handed in.

7. I will always use my listening/learner skills when others are talking and during videos and stories. I will FOCUS with EYES WATCHING, EARS LISTENING, VOICE QUIET and BODY STILL. People I should focus with are my teachers when they talk, adults in the school talking to me, my friends at play and Show n Tell, and my parents.

8. Treat other people's things with respect. Do not smash toys, or tear paper. Treat items gently. Treat stuffies and fidgets with care. When something does not belong to you return it in the same condition as you borrowed it. Leave your own toys at home and remember NO POKEMON cards allowed at school.

9. When transitioning from desk to carpet or to line up we get up slowly, push in chairs and walk to our spot on the carpet or in line. We do not run, push or jump into place. There is no prize for being at the front of the line. Be kind to each other.
